US Highway 19 near Florida Turnpike
Highway 19 runs right through Howey-in-the-Hills, and the speed limit goes from 65 on the Turnpike to 55 on Hwy 19, to 45 then 35 within 1/2 mile. The steep downgrade through town makes it just about impossible to remain at the posted 35 mph. Howey Police sit and ambush at the bottom of the hill.
