This area is part of a series of consecutive local law enforcement traps on US19 stretching from the southern intersection with I-77 & I-64 at Beckley north to Sutton. It includes, in order going north: Mt. Hope, Oak Hill, Fayetteville, Summersville and Sutton. Unmarked cars relying entirely on radar patrol US19 with no purpose other than to write speeding tickets carrying hefty fines. Speed limits change frequently and no consideration is given for traffic or terrain. On a recent drive from Beckley to Summersville I noticed at least two dozen patrol cars in the 40 mile span, most of which were unmarked, and all of which were only concerned with radar speed enforcement.
