US Highway 2 near Gateway Road

Grand Forks, North DakotaOct 13, 20081 Comments

After passing I29 heading W on Gateway, the limit is 40mph even when you get pass the Simson truck stop to the North. This area is a four lane with median and eventually turns into four lane Highway 2. Police like to park in the median and get people in the 40mph zone.

When you get onto HWY 2, the limit goes from 40 to a ridiculous 55mph until west of the airport, several miles away. After the airport headed west, the speed limit increases to 75. HWY 2 looks like an interstate, and most people do 65-70. Often there are troopers parked in the median, or in a field to the south of the highway.

Traffic headed to/from the airport or airbase beware!

Comments:
To the person in charge of this website, the speed limit on Hwy 2 west of the international airport is 70 mph, not 75 mph.
