US Highway 231 South near Ross Clark Circle
Beginning at Ross Clark Circls and extending along U.S. Hwy. No. 231 South to Dothan’s Southmost City Limits, especially on weekends and especially if you are a young college student from out of state, headed to the Florida beaches, Dothan’s city police department will look for ANY REASON whatsoever to stop you so they can search your vehicle, give you a ticket, and if you are under age, take any alcohol which may be in your car.

this is embarrassing to the citizens of dothan to see the spring breakers mostly from ga and tn on their way.....going right through dothan and are stopped almost everytime by dothan police..on 231s just passed the dothan circle....and there they are side the road with all their belongings scattered everywhere for the police to search.....it is true a dothan business man placed a billboard around phoenix city, al...telliing breakers to by-pass dothan for this reason....some of you may have seen it.....i am from this area and do not approve...of what i call a bully tactic.......x
Yes, teenagers should avoid this area during spring / summer breaks. Especially the ones carrying or using drugs and alcohol. I have had to cut enough dead ones out of cars. Maybe if they avoid this area, I won't have to extricate their dead lifeless bodies from their mangled vehicles. Or if they do come through, maybe the cops will catch 'em and take their booze, before it is to late.
Well, if you are under age and have alcohol in your car, what do you expect them to do??? DUH!
