US Highway 27 near Interstate 4

Davenport, FloridaNov 25, 20071 Comments

Officers park in the median of 27 and wait for cars to exit in excess of the speed limit from I4. They are usually positioned in both directions, whether you are headed north or south.

Comments:
It is usually by FHP, but can be Polk County Shefiff also. They put 10-12 cars among the trees in the wide median strip between exit 44 & 48 and exit 48 & 55 (US 27) and clock both eastbound and westbound. They generally ticket only those doing above 10 MPH over limit. They sometimes have men on foot on top of the exit 44 overpass with hand-held radar clocking eastbound. Also beware of exit 36 (SR 33) when going over the overpass westbound.
