US Highway 27/441
The police in this town are rabid when it comes to speed traps. The stretch on Hwy 27/441 to the turn off on 466A. Miller Rd, 468 and Dixie are crawling with cops. The town has about 3000 population and 16 squad cars. Voted the worse speed trap town in Orange, Lake, Sumter and Marion counties in 2006.Beware these cops show no mercy and could care less. If you travel 1 mile over the limit you get a ticket. Period. You think I exaggerate, go ahead and speed in Fruitland Park but plan on paying out the nose.

Yes that is the truth about fruitland park florida police. If you go over one mile the speed limit they will pulled you over and write a ticket ESP. A heavy set cop, he even pulled over his own mom and wrote her a ticket for going 5 miles over the speed limit and also his brother who drive a tow truck. Write him a ticket too.. What so funny is that on February of 2007 lady lake Florida got hit with tornado, fruitland park and lady lake Florida just right next to each other town, darn fruitland park fl. Police was was park right under the tree with his trap pointing to all motorist who's passing through 25A just right the village movers building and that freakin rd speed limit is only 30 miles per hr. My point during that time is that, lady lake town was hit with tornado and they were asking other county for help and the sob supposed to be out there helping all rescuers yet he was out there sitting on the side of the road with his speed trap. When I saw ghat crap. I was like WTF is this BS!! This is not personal or an insult towards fruitland park police. It's the truth! Trust me I live here and I know...
Y'all forgot to add a speed trap on urick street in between Thomas ave and right before you get to the curb rd. fruitland park police created 3 diff. Spot but always hiding under the trees and Myrtle lake ave. Ha ha ha! Its a residential rd but fruitland park police also made 2 diff. Spot for a speed trap in there. Very funny!
Hey all of those cops need the money to keep their job and feed the family and they have quota to write ticket every month ha ha ha! Their salary every month gotta come from somewher either from tax payer (we) or from our community which is US also
It's funny how I am a fruitland park officer and state law does not allow us to write a citation unless its 6 mph plus we have a certain speed in which we start writing tickets ...please get you facts right ..otherwise you will have the honor of getting one of my tickets
