US Highway 34 near US Highway 34

On Highway 34 between Loveland and Big Thompson Canyon there is about .1 mile of highway that is 50 mph going east and 35 going west. The 35 is to slow down for Big Thompson Canyon but far ahead of the canyon. The partol set looking at a 50 mph sign, for east bound traffic, with radar pointing east to catch west bound traffic in 35 mph zone. I am told by locals that this is to catch tourist since they will not be around in 2 weeks to go to court. The officer also stresses that if you go to court it will cost an extra $19 for court cost and 2 extra points on your license. I also heard it is call a fishing pond to fish for out of state cars. I feel this was set up as a speed trap for the Larimer County to make money on tourist.
