US Highway 50 near Mile Marker 126

Gunnison, ColoradoJul 24, 20041 Comments

When heading east on highway 50 down the pass, speed is checked by aircraft on the straight section on highway 50 near mile marker 126 where the downhill forces tend to make you speed without touching the gas peddle. A police officer waits on the other side of a small hill ready to stop you at the bottom after the officer in the airplace radios your speed. The fact that no other traffic is on the road at the time doesn’t matter!

Comments:
Where did this person get their info I wonder? Gunnison county did not in 2004, nor does it now have aircraft speed checks. This is not a speed trap. US Highway 50, as well as 135, 114, and 149 are patroled by state patrole officers and county deputys, just like every other place in the country. I you don't want a ticket, don't speed.
