This hick town takes in over $1million a year in traffic stops. It was featured on CNN in a story about shaking down out of state cars. Your car will be searched and any amount of cash confiscated. They threaten to have the state child welfare agency take your children as they accuse you of being a drug dealer. BUT, if you sign a release not contesting the confiscation of your cash, they will not prosecute you and you and your children are free to go.
I travel through Tenaha 2-3 times every week on US 59 and almost every trip I watch the Tenaha City police stop and ticket 18 wheelers who are traveling well below the posted speed limit of 55
