US Highway 64
Very small town with speed limit dropping quickly from 65 to 55 to 45 then to 35. Policeman sets in open space where he can shoot behind him. The way he sits he can get the speed at all the speed limit signs and cannot dispute which one he got you at. I was doing about 47 at the 45 and was about 38 at the 35. He got me for 47 at the 35 speed limit sign.

Yep...still a speed trap. Came off a dirt road going to a drill rig. Obviously set up to catch "speeders" coming from that drilling rig while in a position to catch anyone on the Hwy as well. From the dirt road, there is maybe 2 "blocks" of "city" between the dirt road and Hwy. 64... it's 25 mph... maybe 3 houses (farmsteads really - furthest road to the west side). I noticed the school was closed...the whole town can dry up and they have no one to blame but themselves. Who would ever invest a dime here? .... I needed gas. I put in $5 and went on to Cherokee to buy fuel. I'll never travel 64 again there, so the local businesses are being hurt but boy oh boy the city is making money... I was doing 40. First ticket in 35 plus years. I bet the rig crews are going around the town now. $204.
