The whole town is a trap. Luther, a town of less than 1000 boasts of 14 full time officers. They have court twice a month with about 100 people waiting hours to see the attorney and judge, but most paying the $200.
The same deal is met with everyone. Instead of paying $200, pay $150 + the $35 court cost and the violation will not go on your record.

Comments:
i live just east of luther and everyone in this area knows about the luther speed traps, so i can only assume that the people saying no this is not a speed trap are probably luther officers

Their courthouse is incompetent, too! I had to take off work to drive out to their courthouse to pay my speeding ticket. I told them I can't find my copy, but my name is ________ and I got a ticket on xx/xx/xx, The lady went to look for whatever the officer should have turned in, and couldn't find it. She assumed the officer had just pulled me over and told me I had a ticket without giving me one (she acted as if this happens! and was rolling her eyes about it and told me to just forget about it) I insisted that no, he gave me one I just lost it. but she sent me on my way anyway. I gave her my number, telling her I'm sure I got one and to call me if someone found their copy. The next day I got an irate voicemail--she had found their copy and was acting like I was trying to get out of paying a ticket. She said "you MUST comply! you can't just get out of paying this ticket! come back to the courthouse TODAY"
