US Highway 69/75
On south bound US69, McAlester has a speedtrap going strong. Before you get to town, at the top of the hill the speed limit rapidly decreases from 70 to 55MPH on the downhill side. Note – this is several miles from where the town actually begins and is a four lane divided highway with limited access. This is not for public safety – strictly fund raising!

The speed limit on U.S. 69, northbound or southbound, is 65 and 55 in places not 70. Not trying to be a know-it-all, but most folks get this wrong, and complain when they get pulled over.
