US Highway 77 near US Highway 290
Police station and Sheriff’s Department both sit on the Northbound side of US 77. Comming into town on either 77 or 290 from either direction, area is constantly watched by City and Sheriff and sometime State Trooper.

Hwy 77 through Lee County is a speed trap in general, traveling on two lane roads of 77 before Lee County the speed limit is 70. The 77 Hwy turns into a beautiful four lane Hwy in Lee County. It just does not makes sense why the speed limit is reduced to 65 other than it is a way to fund the hwy with issue of tickets. Lee County has a no tolerance policy on all traffic stops. Bewarned, even a few miles over the speed limit will get you a ticket.
