US Highway 80
CHP sit on the Highway 80 Westbound onramp of the Newcastle Exit and wait for speeders coming down the hill. This exit is approximately 3 miles past the city of Auburn on Highway 80 westbound.

I'm NOT a skier frequenting this route to the slopes, so I totally got surprised by this trap, and even if you're not going that much over the limit; once you head down that long hill you are! There were 3 CHPs pulling cars over one-after-another; like posted by others--they "lay in waiting" at the top of the ramp. It could be almost be comical--that is if my ticket wasn't so expensive--ended up to be$399 (but of course I was out more $$ with traffic school). Total money-maker for the small towns in the area; as they know its out-of-towners who won't try to fight the ticket in person. The REAL comical side-note was that I'd just been visiting family and one of 'em told me about this reality show called "Speeders"--guess I should've considered that an omen...
