US Highway 97 near Mile Marker 107-108

Jefferson, OregonSep 29, 20051 Comments

State patrolman runs radar from vehicle parked on a graveled side road on the bottom of grade. The patrol car is usually a marked dark green state police patrol car unit. The patrolman parks alongside a concrete barricade on a cattle guard. From the top of the grade vehicle is not recognizable as it is only partially visable. Both north and south lanes have ascending passing lanes that end descending and converging into normal one lane. Use caution when attempting to pass "one more vehicle" before passing lane ends. The patrolman will "paint" and cite on spot. Don’t worry if end up in grid behind 16-wheelers, there is a weigh station at bottom of grade which they must pull for.

Comments:
First, this is in Jefferson County, near Madras, not Jefferson the city. They are 150+ miles apart. Second Oregon State Police MARKED cars are ALL dark blue. The color before that was white.
