US Highway Business 1 near Penndel Lanes
I got my first and only speeding ticket here when I was 16. I have sinced moved away from the area, but was in town yesterday and surprised to see this speed trap still alive almost 20 years later.
The police sit in the parking lot or side street adjacent to Penndel lanes using VASCAR to time traffic. The road changes from a 50 MPH zone to 35 MPH zone only a few dozen yards before the timing lines, offering a juicy target to officers.

This is and has been a speed trap in Penndel Boro for many years but the speed limit does not go from 50 mph to 35 mph as stated. It goes from 40 mph to 35 mph. The northbound change is about 250 yards to the lines and southbound about a mile. Also the officers are pretty leinient rarely writing tickets under 50 mph. I have lived here less than a quarter mile from this trap for 66 years so do me a favor and slow down when you go through my home town.
