US Highway Joliet near Cedar Road

New Lenox, IllinoisJun 30, 20071 Comments

Joliet Hwy between Cedar rd and Anderson. Limits go from 30 mph from the east to 25mph to the west. Cops drive up and down Joliet hwy with radar. Also they sit in Martino schools parking lot which is also on Joliet Hwy.

Comments:
Be VERY careful on Joliet Highway either side of Martino Junior High. There is an illegally-signed school speed zone. State law requires a school warning sign approaching and then another telling where the zone actually begins. All that's on Joliet Highway is the sign telling you that you're now IN the zone. As well, there are no flashing lights to tell the driver when school is in session and students are present. The cop sits on Lake Street (in front of a fire hydrant!) facing north and gets drivers as they hit the spot on the road where the sign is. Bogus but expensive.
