US Highway Route 40 near toll facility

Perryville, MarylandOct 24, 20071 Comments

The officer (local bridge cop)hides in an unused toll booth at the U.S. 40 brige crossing over the susquehanna river and targets east bound traffic. you don’t know it until he steps out of the booth and pulls you over as you are paying your toll, the cruiser is hidden out of sight you do not see it until after you pull thru the toll

Yes this is a speed trap although you won't get a speeding ticket! You will however get almost any other type violation. What they do is get behind you as you are going across the bridge (it is one lane) that is usually slow and they run your plates and then look at anything else they can get you for like objects obscuring view ( things hanging from mirror or in your back window), tires worn if the drivers has any warrants. There are only two briges to get to eitherside of the river. One is I95 which will cost you $ 5.00 each time or a one time fee of $10.00 for the route 40 bridge. If you take 40 often you will get stopped! I have no idea how the not a speed trap people can not see it! They are very sneeky here and know they can find something to cite you with.
