US Rte 20 (Fremont Pike), from US Rte 23 on the west and Ground Level Inc (GLI) on the east

The fact that a small Woodville restaurant boasts the name Speed Trap Diner in no mistake. Although the outside patrolling boundaries on the wide four lane US Rte 20 (Fremont Pike), from US Rte 23 on the west and Ground Level Inc (GLI) on the east, covers a distance of 4 miles, the core speed trap lane within the town of Woodville is only 1.2 miles from McDonalds on west to the Speed Trap Diner next to RR tracks on the east. In that short 1.2 miles the speed limit posting changes five (5) times ranging from 55 mph as you enter/exit town to 45, 35, and 25 during normal hours. Two school zones within that stretch add 20 mph zones during posted hours to this obstacle course. Several police vehicles including an SUV, Dodge Avenger and a full sized sedan equip these aggressive officers with the equipment needed to heavily patrol this speed trap.

Comments:
I can attest, this area is a HUGE speed trap! The Woodville police department and their part time prosecutor will work with offenders to work out a "lesser" charge, usually a brake light violation to make the offender "think" they're on the offender's side. However, in reality, the less charge is about $80 than just a simple speeding violation. They don't make money from insurance rates being raised, they care nothing how many points go on an offender's license, they want their money now. My tip? NEVER admit guilt, be polite to the officers and court staff, and ALWAYS ALWAYS take the ticket to trial!!! That will cost them money to fight you. Even if you lose, you will be out the same amount of money if you hadn't fought. There is, however, the chance you will win and they (Woodville) will eat the cost!

1) The Village of Woodville limits are not to US 23. They are from GLI on the East to Luckey Farmers (2 buildings past McDonald's) on the West. 2) Don't break the law and you won't be ticketed. 3) If you do break the law be grateful when or if they take it down to a lesser charge not causing you points or insurance to go up. Think about what it would have cost you if you got what you were actually doing.

i like that the speed here is enforced so well here. I can worry less about my children walking to and from school. rt 20 is a big road to cross. I don't speed and woodville is well enough known that other people should know better than to.
