VASCAR In Use — Watch for white lines across roadway.

Honesdale, PennsylvaniaJan 12, 20101 Comments

Honesdale has numerous areas designated for speed enforcement. The police use VASCAR instead of Radar by state law. All of the regular 25 mph speed watch zones have white lines painted across the roadway at various intervals apart to allow for timing between the lines, similar to airborne speed enforcement. Leading speed trap zones are PA Route 6 entering town from either the east or the west and from south from the north on PA Route 191 entering and leaving town. Most all are at the bottom of hills.

Comments:
State police like to sit on 670 coming towards 6/191 (Main Street) in Honesdale as well. They like to sit in a pullover between two hills before you get to Kim's Bar I think it is. I was given an enormous break not long ago by a state trooper right in the 35 zone so many thanks and very grateful to the trooper for that. I wouldn't call this a trap at all, more like checking speed in a residential area where people like to hit it going to and from town. Thanks.
