VFW Parkway near West Roxbury Parkway

Traveling NE on VFW Parkway, just beyond West Roxbury Parkway, there is often police officers hiding behind a tree. They are usually there between 2pm and 6pm.

Comments:
This is an intermittent trap, usually staffed by state troopers. Be aware of the following: You will be tagged for your speed coming over or just descending the hill (posted at 35 but traffic regularly is at 40-45). You will be written for the speed limit at the rotary 25. A guilty plead will get you a fine and a head injury surfine. However this surfine should not apply as the the surfine is not valid for a DCR roadway which the Parkway is. Also be aware that Massachusetts has a law that states all posted speed limits are based on traffic engineering data and subsequently set at the 85th percentile. Since traffic on this roadway is always at 40-45mph the speed limit should not be enforceable. I realized this information after pleading guilty.
