Speed is posted at 45 mph, will ticket for anything above 55 mph and should !! Traffic at many times reaches 65 and above, this is much too fast for the road and should be monitored. Be aware, Offices also seat at many of areas monitoring traffic on the McDermott, they also travel with traffic and monitor while rolling. There have been several bad accidents in this area, all due to speed and cross-traffic. It looks as if the speed limit was set for cross-traffic problems as this is a residental area. Also, be aware, the speed limit is reduced to 40 mph, 1 mile E. of Allem on McDermott in the Waters Crossing area at the bottom of the hill at the traffic light, is also monitored by Allen PD seating on Waters Crossing cross street.
