Walker Street near Lincoln Boulevard

Cypress, CaliforniaMar 28, 20081 Comments

There is a no RIGHT turn on red from north bound Walker to east bound Lincoln. More than one unit is often set up either a block north or a block west sitting in the liquor store parking lots. You can only see the units AFTER you commit the violation. People that are aware of this intersection often speed up to avoid the long wait just to make a right turn. The intersection has very, very long intervals with left turn only signals as well… maybe by design?

Comments:
This was most definitely by design. If you look up and down Lincoln Ave, since the redesign took place about 10 years ago, the city has done everything possible to get you to commit violations. Slowing down traffic with the dangerous concrete outcroppings also makes it impossible to move to the right to make a right hand turn. They narrowed Lincoln Ave down to exactly two lanes....everywhere except....you guessed it.....Walker St./Lincoln Ave. Southeast corner, where they left Walker St wide enough for a car or truck to turn right but not forward and it is the only corner on Lincoln, from Bloomfield to Valley View in either direction, where it is wider than exactly two lanes. Make that turn on the red and the cop sitting on the other side of the Taco Bell, will be having a look at your drivers license and registration.
