Walton Road

What’s so ridiculous about this trap located between Village Green and Leonard Road is the posted speed: 30mph (and they mean it)…if coming from the east, posted speed is 45mph, but as soon as you hit Leonard it’s 30! They wait (usually on foot w/ the radar/laser in their hand) at the Baptist church just off the Walton to the north.

Comments:
this is a narrow two lane road, not really conducive to speeding. however, some of my friends have been stopped at 37 mph in the 30 mph posted area. very unfair coming from the east as you must slow from the 45 mph posted speed limit to the 30 mph.

I used to live right there and the speed limit was 30MPH from US1 traveling east past Leonard Road until you got to the Psych Center. This would make sense since it is only two lanes with no shoulders and you pass very close to housing (with unfenced backyards), churches, and PSL High School. After that you were headded to the Savannahs (swamplands) so you could open up to 45MPH. Sorry, it makes sense and should be enforced. If one kid on a bicycle gets hit, people will wonder why nothing was done!
