Washington extension Avenue near Jermain Avenue

Albany, New YorkOct 23, 20072 Comments

The Albany City Police sit in a car on the south side of Washington Ave. Extension at night. They point their speed gun westward, at cars coming eastward, toward them. It’s a great speed trap, since their cop car canNOT be seen in the dark at 8 to 12 p.m. The speed limit is strictly 30 mph, but other traffic pressures innocents to prevent being rear ended. Do not let intimidation get you! Slow down! Go under 30 mph or less. It’s a dirty cash machine, courtesy of Albany’s police, that’ll get someone!

Oh, I get it. You mean Washington Avenue near Jermain Street where the speed limit goes from 45 to 30 heading towards downtown.

They will also hide in cross streets on westbound side before Colvin, with radar pointing west to catch the unwary eastbounder. 3 of my co-workers got nailed where 45 goes to 30 during morning rush. Ticketed for 50 in 30!
