West Bay Drive near Gulf Boulevard
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is constantly parked on the Bellair Causeway with radar. The speed limit is currently 30MPH and the bridge is a construction zone. Be aware that deputies are using intimidation tactics such as tailgating drivers to force them to speed up or become nervous and swerve in effort to issue tickets._

We got a ticket on this bridge at 5:30 a.m. on our way to the airport. My husband never speeds, but coming down a car naturally speeds up (gravity). There he was at the bottom. Wouldn't even shave off a couple of miles. The ticket was for 10 over the 30mph and cost $256.00! Excessive, we thought. This definitely is a speed trap.....beware!
The speed limit on the Belleair Beach side of the bridge has been raised to 35 mph which is kind of ridicules because when you reach the middle of the bridge driving east the speed limit changes to 30 mph & you had better adhere to it because the police are constantly in the area & it is very difficult to maintain the 30 mph without constantly hitting your brake pedal.
