West side of Olar on HWY 64

Olar, South CarolinaJun 22, 20145 Comments

The local police officer in a black Charger was issuing another driver a speeding ticket when he stepped out in the street and waved me over and issued me a ticket for doing 48 in a 30. He wasn’t even in or at his car when I came up on him and had slowed way below the speed limit to pass the flashing police car. This town is running a true criminal speed trap. I will not be visiting South Carolina with my family for vacation.

Comments:
I guess this means that my town and the state of South Carolina are one driver safer if you don't come back. Cashiers check or money order only please.

Let me guess, you had eye contact on him from the moment you entered our town....I doubt it! I am sure our awesome Chief caught you on radar (a ways back from where he stopped you) and then exited his car to wave you over. No, I am not the Chief, but a resident of Olar that is proud our Chief stopped yet another irresponsible law breaker. We support our Chief and the great job he does to ensure we are safe. Oh, and we are thankful you won't be back in our town or state....Well done Chief!!!!

Can you read? the officer was not in the car he was next to another drivers car giving him the paper work for a ticket he was issuing. Your not safer you have a criminal for a police chief and is costing your state revenue from vacation travel which is much more than the pathetic ticket. If I had been speeding I would have just paid the ticket and gone about my business. Your little town also will not be receiving the revenue from the purchases my family always made at the corner of 64 and the east side of the railroad tracks at the fruit stand the lady there always has.

Yes, I can read! I seriously DOUBT our Chief was away from his car with another one when he flagged you down. Out side his car after catching you on radar and in roadway maybe near other violator in order to flag you down, yes. Not saying he didn't have ANOTHER car stopped, just not talking with them. Our Chief is far from a criminal! I am sure your few dollars spent in SC will even be felt. I love those caught speeding and ticketed who through it around, I will never come back in the town or state!" So funny how you think YOU are so important that your wallet makes a true difference....NOT!!!!! Our Chief has stopped cars, written ticket, and months later stopped same car and driver. Again, your purchases at the store is not a real lose and there is NO lady with a fruit stand in town, so you must be confused AGAIN! Like I said, we support our Chief and will look forward to your payment for visiting our town, your last visit...or at least speeding through it.

The above comments are brought to you by the Olar Chamber of Commerce and speed trap boosters' club. Perhaps, you can explain why the mayor of the village of Olar refuses to supply local real estate tax revenues compared to speeding violation revenue as was requested under a freedom of information request? Perhaps a state audit or better still since 321 is a federal highway, a federal audit of the books for the village of Olar.
