Wiesbrook Road near Butterfield, Wheaton-Warrenville South HS Road

Wheaton, IllinoisSep 20, 20071 Comments

They sit either in the parking lot of the baseball fields or on one of the side roads, almost anytime of day, but night is the worst. They Usually are in marked cars, but they are hidden so you can’t usually see them until you pass it. Also, be careful to notice when the speed is reduced after school is out, it is flashing and they take that very serious. They have nothing else to do in Wheaton, so they catch people here all the time.

Comments:
Not only is this a speed trap (still--2/2011), but in 19 years I have never, never seen a child from Wiesbrook Elementary School cross the street at Durfee and Wiesbrook. There is NO crossing guard. So why on earth do they have that flashing light?? There are other areas in Wheaton where there are dozens of children walking to/from school (Dawes St. & President St.) where there is a crossing guard and they could use that flashing light instead of wasting it at Durfee & Wiesbrook. President is as busy if not busier than Wiesbrook (other than when high school is about to start or just gets out).
