Wolfe Road near Elizabeth Way
There is an occasional speed trap by the Sunnyvale City PD on Wolfe Road between Elizabeth Way and Homestead Road. I travel on that street many times and the police are usually there during morning commute hours (8-11AM). They are usually in operation during the 1st week and the last week of a month (ticket quotas).
Wolfe Road is 4 lane (2 per direction and is a main thoroughfare thru Sunnyvale as it connects to the 101 Freeway and the 280 Freeway in a straight line. It is crowded during morning and afternoon commute as workers from the 101/280 freeways use it to get to the local businesses like Applied Materials, HP, and Intel facilities.
There are apartment/duplexes on Wolfe Road, and the police, usually motorcycle, will hide in the driveways of the duplexes, behind buildings, to catch speeders. I have a Valentine One radar detector and it sometimes goes off when I travel on the road. Speed limit is 35 but some (including myself) have gone 50 on the road.
One time, when I was commuting to work, I was going about 40 in the right lane when my detector went off. I slowed down to 35MPH. There was a car behind me and I guess he got impatient at me going too slow so he changed lanes and sped up to pass me. He got ahead of me, got back into the lane I was in, then got nailed as a motorcycle cop jumped out of the driveway and hit his lights for a ticket. Wish I could have signed the driver that there was a cop using radar in the area.
