Comments:
I encountered this speed trap on a road trip in May 2010, located at Exit 69 or about five miles west of where I-64 meets I-57. If you're heading eastbound and approaching this interchange, you'll crest a slight hill approximately 1/2 mile away. The 1/2 mile from the slight hill top leading up to the interchange is flat, straight, and wide open. When I noticed a suspicious-looking car sitting on the interchange bridge over I-64, another car proceeded to pass me. Sure enough, the car on the bridge was Illinois State Police, and just past the bridge on the eastbound entrance ramp to the right were two chase cars and a motorcycle officer. The car that passed me was probably only going 5mph-10mph over the posted 65mph speed limit, but he was pulled over by one of the patrol cars waiting on the entrance ramp. I was lucky and did not get stopped, and that was only because I happened to notice the radar car on the bridge from a distance! Watch out in this area.
