York Avenue near 65th Street

Edina, MinnesotaJun 24, 20061 Comments

Travelling South on York Avenue between 63rd Street and 66th Street. Just after you exit Highway 62 and travel southbound multiple police cars are commonly parked on side of street, sidewalk and median. Multiple units with one officer using Lidar (commonly LTI Ultralyte) and occasionally officers with radar. Usually they just wave the people over to the side after they clock them. If you simply avoid them waving you down they will chase!

Comments:
I drive Xerxes bet. Hwy 62 and 66th St. in Edina almost daily, since my office is on the corner of 66th and Xerxes (which then turns into York). At 65th street (west side), the road slopes down and police sit there - or a bit further down xerxes as the road curves. They are there 3-4 days a week, and I regularly watch people (and my clients, at times) get speeding tickets. This is a real deal, and a great source of city income.
