Ashland City, Tennessee Speed Traps
Radar speed trap at this location from 2006 to present.
Location is in front of my home. I’ve observed police camped here nearly 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Huge profit center for Ashland City Government. You must appear in person in court. You will pay every fee imaginable in this town.
Court backed up till August 2010. (This is Feb 26, 2010). Writing as many as 50 tickets in an 8 hour period — State Route 12, State Route 49 and Bell Street.
You leave highway 12 not far from Walmart and take a right on Bell Street and at the top of hill is waiting a county cop and speed is 30 and not far from there it goes to 50.
It’s definitely a speed trap.
Highway 12 north into Ashland City changes from 55 to 40 to 30 MPH within about 1 mile just north of the Wal-Mart. High level of State, Sheriff and City cops patrol this area. Southbound on H -12 into AC comes down a Mark’s Creek Hill from a 50 to 40 to 30 MPH in one mile.
This area is at the entrance to the Girl Scout Camp. It is currently a construction zone, with a very recent drop in speed from 45mph to 30mph. There is normally 1-2 officers in that area, and they will write you at 45mph without thinking twice. One officer is know to have 2-3 cars stopped and issue citations down the line.No warnings, no excuses, you speed, you get a ticket.
