Baxter, Tennessee Speed Traps

The speed limit is only 25 mph. It’s easy to go 40+ mph downhill if you don’t use your brakes, and there’s no logical reason for the speed limit to be less than 35; the road is straight and paved with no houses. If you’re going uphill, there’s not even a speed limit 25 sign because it fell in 2016 and wasn’t replaced.

Speed limit is posted at 30 mph from the turn onto Ditty Rd until you pass the racetrack. The rest of Ditty Rd is 45mph. Baxter Police sit at the service entrance to the race track and are not visible until you come around a blind corner and are looking straight at them. Posted speed limit is hard to see if your turning onto Ditty Rd from the Interstate.
