9 Mile Hill/Hwy 70 S

Bellevue, TennesseeNov 23, 20110 Comments

There is a very long stretch here with no stop lights. The speed limit is 45 and it is very easy to go above this going down the hill in either direction. They will ticket you here.

McCrory Lane traveling from Poplar Creek to I-40

Bellevue, TennesseeJan 24, 20116 Comments

Metro’s favorite spot is at the bottom of the hill as you round the slight bend about half way to I40. The speed limit is 40 even though it’s quite safe to go 55. Unfortunately, I have made many drivers angry at me when I do 40MPH because it is so obviously too low of a limit.

Mapco station near Interstate 40 on Old Hickory Blvd.

Bellevue, TennesseeMay 30, 20100 Comments

Motorcycle cops will often sit on the side of the road just before the Mapco station on Old Hickory Blvd before you get to the Rt. 40 onramp. They’re taking advantage of the speed that drivers have picked up coming down the hill and don’t realize it. Be careful; these cops are hard to see until it’s WAY too late.

Bellevue Road near Hicks Road

Bellevue, TennesseeApr 09, 20081 Comments

Officers regularly set up a radar speed trap at the corner of Bellevue Rd and Hicks Rd. The posted speed limit is 30, but most cars turning onto Bellevue Rd coming from the Old Hickory Blvd traffic light on the corner are travelling well above the limit. As you round the corner on Bellevue Rd and approach Hicks Rd on the right be sure to carefully watch your speed.

Bellevue Road near Shell Gas Station, Railroad Crossing

Bellevue, TennesseeJul 02, 20061 Comments

Metro Police routinley sit at the Bellevue Road/Bellevue Road North fork by the church clocking drivers as they crest the hill. There is no warning what-so-ever. When they are there, they usually have 2-4 officers working this at a time. The posted limit on this road is 30 which is absolutly absurd, but they will get you for doing anything over that. It’s really just best to avoid this road completly in my opinion.
