Westbound on HWY 60 through Birchwood, the speed limit drops without notice from 55 MPH to 30 MPH in a rural-appearing area on a curve, about 1/2 mile from the nearest building. Hamilton County Sheriff’s car often sits in the Elementary School parking lot, hidden between parked cars (with or without "school zone" lights flashing). No warning tickets issued.
