Calhoun, Tennessee Speed Traps
I HAVE SEEN DAYS WHERE OFFICER Making multiple stops per day. People in community are of a mind police dept using tickets as a means of revenue.
Unmarked car with radar hide’s in several locations. Speed signs are small and give small chance of seeing. Very small distance to slow down from 55 mph to 35 mph very obvious setup by local for revenue generating business.
The old police chief woman is now back at work. She is driving the black police car with no visible lights etc. Her favorite places to hide and ticket are the old bank at north end of town on Hwy 11, and in the old trucking yard facing Hwy 11 N and Hwy 163 w. She also sits near the end of city limits on Hwy 163 E ( Bowater Rd ) going towards Etowah near the duplex apartment. Since her rehire their goal is to raise $ 150,000. In the past a lot of people noticed that their speeding tickets were not reported to the insurance companies, makes a person grin.
Police often sit in the parking lot of the Methodist Church facing east. It is a 35mph zone.
Off Interstate 75 exit 36 to Tennessee hwy 11 north/south. Small city government gets 80% of its budget from speeding tickets through the city. Officers will not bend on the 35mph speed limit and the city has a no speeding tolerence policy. Trying to fight a citiation in city court is out of the question because most of the judges are city business owners.
