Broad St. by Wendy’s White Planel Van with Cameras

Chattanooga, TennesseeMar 07, 20100 Comments

Broad St. near Wendy’s heading to St. Elmo neighborhood. Sitting in a white van is a traffic camera speedtrap. Speed limit is 35mph, camera will get you at 40+mph and the ticket is $50.00. Mailed to you showing the tag and car. Ticket doesn’t go against your record but if not paid they will put a lien on your car, etc. This same van is parked at Bailey Ave. if your coming into Chattanooga go through the tunnel (van sets to the right to get you). Sometimes it also sets on Lee Hwy as you head to the mall at the bottom of the hill just after the old McKay’s bookstore on the right. Be safe out there!

U.S. Hwy. 127/State Hwy. 27 Northbound at Signal Mountain Blvd.

Chattanooga, TennesseeFeb 18, 20100 Comments

Sits approximately 200-300 yds. north of the bridge across Signal Mountain Blvd. on State Hwy. 27 where the concrete barrier, separating the north and southbound sides, ends. An officer positions his car on the northbound side of of 27, on the left shoulder, and immediatly adjacent to the end of the concrete barrier. The officer points his car against the flow of traffic and turns out all the lights. He cannot be seen in this position, especially at this location, because a car, even with high beams, is pointing its lights down hill as it tops the ridge before Signal Mountain Blvd.; while the cop is sitting slightly uphill from the bridge on the other side.

Speed cameras have been installed between the Veterans Bridge and Hixson Pike. Speed limit is 35. Don’t give them another $50!

REd bank police love to sit in the gravel on the north side of the road between the railrad tracks and the graveyard, to write many tickets to raise revenue for the city of Red Bank… sitting here often, pretnding that it has to do with safety when it clearly is a revenue generator for the town, as the speed limit is a ridiculously low 30mph– easy to very safely hit 35-40 on the road and not even notice. Another good reason not to visit or shop in Red Bank Tennessee.
