Cordova, Tennessee Speed Traps
Morning Sun Rd. and Grove Rd. Cordova
Morning Sun Rd. is a winding road between Houston Levee Rd. and 64. As you come through the wooded area approching Grove Rd. there were two motorcycle cops harrasing all drivers that are coming through there. I was detained and writen a warning for doing 39 in a 35. Needless to say this is a bit extreme.
Timber Creek Drive near Walnut Run Road
Ticket given for driving 38 mph in 30 mph zone.
South of Walnut Grove on Sanga before Stop sign at Bazemore
Both Memphis and Shelby county sheriffs run radar 2 or 3 days every week. Going South they sit just over the hill or on one of the side streets. Going North they also sit just over the crest of the hill or on the side streets. The 30 mph speed limit is hard to maintain going up and down. They also run radar on Houston Levee South of Walnut Grove where speed limit is 35 but on a divided road. Seems very slow for such a nice road.
Across from ECS on Macon at the Korean Church parking lot
The back into the parking lots just enough for the bushes to hide them. The spead limit is 35 so do not even go over 40. I have been pulled over and got a ticket for 41 the day before Thanksgiving! They are usually Sherriffs deputies.
Walnut Bend (south) between Walnut Grove & Germantown Parkwa
Speed limit on Walnut Bend is 30, if traveling towards Germantown Parkway (south) it’s down hill and easy to coast at over 30 mph. They often sit at Walnut Bend and Walnut Creek (4-way stop) to not only catch you speeding, but to also catch you not stopping completely at the stop sign.
