Crump, Tennessee Speed Traps

Police sit regularly at the 55mph speed sign on hwy 69 just 1/4 mile east of hwy 64/69 intersection. There is a 200-300 meter section of road on hwy 69 that is marked 35mph even though the road through the center of town is 45mph! I have never noticed the 35mph sign until it was too late; pulled over at the 55mph sign for doing 54. Anyway, the 35mph speed limit is set artificially low and Crump police use it for revenue. There is no traffic on this road to speak of nor is there any safety reason for having it. I have been in contact with DOT to see if any safety study has ever been performed on this and it appears there has not. TN state law requires the performance of a safety study.

Officers are instructed to write two tickets per shiFort Officers that do not follow these instructions are terminated.

Coming from either Savannah or Adamsville. Inside Crump City Limits. They can’t keep help though and the cops are sneaky and random. The State Troopers Patrol it when there are no regulars. watch it esp in the 50 mph zone…that is where they nail folks the most because it is wide open 4 lane and they got pleny of places to hide.

This is the main way the city gets it money. Does not do you any good to go to the Mayor as she is the Police Chiefs Wife and she also has told the judge not to give any breaks and his job is to fine you.
