Dyersburg, Tennessee Speed Traps

The city limits has recently been extended to about a mile north of where it previously was north of the city. The new speed limit is posted in the correct location but only in one direction (heading South). There is a long stretch of highway where the correct speed (40 mph) isn’t posted if you are heading North on Hwy 78. The big speed trap is at Radio Rd. It used to be 55 there, but now it’s 40. The speed signs are very confusing, too.

Police often sit in the parking lot of the Security Bank branch right past the Dyersburg Mall directly across from the Tire/Lube Express area of Wal-mart. You will find them there during the rush hours and at night on weekends.
Speed limit is 30.

This is an outrageous speed trap. The speed posted is 30mph, it is a short road, by-pass, connecting the shopping district to a main road heading out of the city. Police cruisers can be found backed up in parking lots, driveways, especially the driveway to the water plant. Some times during the day when there is less traffic and safe driving can be done, the cruisers will be chasing down violators, some which may only be going 5 or 6 miles over the limit. This road is worked thoroughly. Visual, doppler radar and audio radar are strongly enforced. These guys don’t joke around.
