Gibson, Tennessee Speed Traps
Rozell Street adjoining Hwy 70-79
Rozell Street is a side street turning left off Hwy 70-79 with a BP station beside it. It has a Yellow sign with a picture of 2 children on it and the words"20 MPH" under it and another sign stating "SCHOOL" directly below the first sign. I was given a ticket for $85.00 stating I was going 23 in a 20 MPH zone at 6:10 P.M. I contested it, and had a picture of the sign, but still lost. Police stated that was a 20 MPH zone, regardless. City Court Judge is a former Memphis TN police officer, not an attorney or Judge. Total ticket cost 135 with $50.00 being court cost. To appeal, I would have to post a 250.00 cash post w/in 10 days from court date. They know no one can afford to appeal it.
