Interstate 40 near Exit Number 80

Jackson, TennesseeFeb 18, 20081 Comments

Ten mile west and five miles east of this exit there is a very heavy volume of traffic citations issued. The enforcement appears not to be exploitive, but it is the heavest between Memphis and Nashville. Posted speed limit is reasonable (65 MPH) for amount of traffic in this area.

Henderson TN as you go on US 45 toward Jackson. Most all of Hwy 45 is 55mph but just out of a small town of Pinson they get you to 65mph, then with one and only one sign (don’t blink) they drop you suddenly to 45mph on a newly widened road with 12′ emergency lanes and 14′ median. No reason except a trap and no slowly to 55 then 45, it’s set as a trap and they get ’em every day all day long here.

US Highway 45 South near Past Hwy 18 Cutoff

Newly refurbished from 2 lane with high hills and common head on accidents to wide 4 lane with 14′ median and 12′ emergency lanes on both sides, some idiot thinks 45 is still good enough. Normal traffic flow and the hill climb requires at least 55, but it’s a trap and they sit there all day everyday. Many truckers get it because it just looks like a 55mph road and they did not up the limit when they got through with improbvements. From there on to Pinson is, get this, 65 mph. State just laughs, they are racking in the money here.
