Moscow, Tennessee Speed Traps

This town is known for speeding tickets. You can be one mile over and you will not get a warning.

Yes its there, and strictly a revenue generator, ( about $800,000 per year according my sources). Showed up for the court appearance with about 100 other people, ( everyone could not even fit into the courtroom). Judge came in 10 minutes late ( wasting my time), and said that since you showed up ill dismiss the ticket, Ie wont go on your record, if you just pay the court fee. $120. All the barney’s were there acting like we were in Federal Court. People were there for speeding, and even issued ticked for "following too close". Its a complete racket. Avoid this area at all costs it is a trap. BTW if you show up for the court get there early because there is no parking. All the Barney’s came in and made people move their vehicles if you parked behind the building.

i was on my harley w wife in a 55 mph heading west from hwy 18 “obeying” coming from shiloh -pickwick, a little old man in a little truck pulls out in front of me going 20 mph forcing me to go around , over a double line (timed just right if you ask me ) , the chief stops me( black and different color un marked cars ) and gives me a ticket for it , the little old man ( in which the chief claims “he” did nothing wrong, ever heard of failure to yeild right of way ?) stopped just ahead, then when we were through , he backed
up to the chief, they have a conversation on first name basis? If this
happens , DONT GO FOR IT ! Judge will dismiss at court cost , of 100.00 ,off record ) for the entire court room , ( offers all before they start court)!

As decribed below, just avoid this town all together. Obvious speed trap and unless you are just looking for them, they will get you. Got nailed going east bound as well, where the 52mph drops suddenly to 40mph; to the tune of $185.00! Find another route unless you just want to donate as well.

When you leave the center of town and move to the eastern edge where it becomes open country, the speed remains 40mph for an extended distance. I assume farmland must have been annexed for the purposes of revenue generation.

fine: $132.00 for 57 in a 40 zone!

Moscow, TN is a place to avoid.
