Moscow, Tennessee Speed Traps

Set up on west side of town outside city limits just at river bridge, running radar into county area. writing tickets for traffic in county doing over 55mph. they have one mile jurisdiction outside city limits which is only for pursuit purpose.they will write speeding tickets, judge will dismiss and charge $90.00 court cost.which is for ticket that wasnt legal anyway. also into town is Hwy 76 which goes north, its 30 mph downhill to railroad and they hide through there.

Moscow is a very small town with posted speed limit of 40 MPH through the town. Be particularly careful traveling east when exiting town. I went to City Hall to pay my fine and noticed numerous cases with similar fact patterns as mine: 52 MPH headed east leaving town. It is worth appearing, almost everyone that appeared for court had their speeding ticket dismissed but had to pay $75 court cost. A couple of people had their tickets dismissed by the judge without court cost. There were a large number of people that went ahead and paid the "bond" on the ticket without appearing before the judge. In every case, the "bond" exceeded the court cost. The officers encouraged everyone to pay the "bond" when they got there but waiting for the judge lessened the fee. Of course the easiest thing to do is to be careful going through Moscow.
