Nashville, Tennessee Speed Traps

Particularly once school is back in, a motor cycle cop sits on the south side of the road about 1/4 of a mile in from Edmondson Pike. The road is hilly and the speed limit is 30 but it is easy to get up speed on the hill. I have never gotten a ticket but I see him often with drivers pulled over.

There is a four way stop here and the south side of Whispering Hills is a dead end where a cop will often sit and wait for speeders and people to roll through the stop signs.

Amalie Dr has a large hill that it is impossible to see over. On the side of the hill closest to Old Hickory Blvd is a valley that has entraces to two condo complexes. Cops love to do this on Sundays, but they sit at the base of the hill and ticket drivers who speed faster than 30 either headed north from Old Hickory down to the base of the hill or south from the top of the hill., which kind of happens naturally as the hill is steep. Be careful. Alternatively, some times a cop sits on the other side of the hill to catch drivers that speed as they crest the hill and head north towards McMurray. The police love the neighborhood for the hilly regions and long streets.

Cops sit on the Northeast side of Edmondson Pike on the side streets and in the entrances to the Apartment complexes writing tickets constantly. This is a daily event and is a “favorite” location for years now … speed limit is 40 and drops down to 35 nearer to Old Hickory Blvd.

The police sit in the parking lot on the NE corner of this intersection, rather hidden by a building. There is a traffic light at this corner that is difficult to see and there is quite a bit of construction along this road. Lanes chance repeatedly and it’s a mess. The motorcycle police motion people into the parking lot and write tickets as fast as they can. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. I have no idea what the speed limit is along this street because there is so much construction distraction. Go slow, don’t run through yellow lights, be very cautious!
