Interstate I40 eastbound near Donelson Road

Nashville, TennesseeFeb 08, 20060 Comments

Area under heavy construction and from the I40-I24 south split eastbound to the Donelson exit police use numerous techniques to catch speeders. Strict enforcement of 45mph with tickets for more than 5 mph over. Roadway is extremely narrow and dangerous as well, use extreme caution in this area.

Huntington Parkway near Edmonson Pike

Nashville, TennesseeFeb 01, 20060 Comments

They start this one up again routinely when its quota time. May go for long periods without trap. The speed limit is 30, which almost no one does, additionally, part of it is at the bottom of a large hill. They usually stick close to the intersection of Huntington and Edmonson, sometimes trying to catch people on Edmonson as well. Occasionally they will park in a short dead-end further away from Edmonson.

Edmonson Pike Street near Greentree Drive

Nashville, TennesseeFeb 01, 20060 Comments

Trap here mostly during the am & pm rush hours, sometimes during lunch hour and occasionally other times. They like to hide here on Greentree behind a tall bank, or on the next street, Candlestick Dr. and catch people speeding on Edmonson Pike. Speed limit here is 40, which is probably too slow for a 4 lane plus turn lane, semi-residtial area. As with the other Edmonson pike traps, this is more likely to be operating when its quota time (something npd officially denies, but privately some cops will acknoldege). Alot more activity (both good and complete lying) since the new police chief was appointed. Probably best to avoid nashville altogether and take 840 around the city unless you need stop there.

Interstate 24 near Interstate 440

Anywhere near the interchange of I-24 amd I-440 on the southeast side of town.

21st South Avenue near Interstate 440

Nashville, TennesseeAug 01, 20050 Comments

The speed limit abruptly and uncomfortably drops from 40MPH to 30MPH as soon as you cross over I-440 where Hillsboro Pike turns into 21st Ave. S. The cops are predictably there usually around 9pm through the wee hours of the morning on Saturday and Sunday nights although I have seen them at the same times during the week too. They wait in the office building parking lots and nab people from there.
