Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee Speed Traps

My family coming home from family vacation in Tennessee 1:00am Saturday night a Henderson county sheriff deputy came from no where says I was speeding at 82 mph in a little four cylinder ford station wagon. I don’t think it’s ever been over 75. People tease me at Fedex, I always drive like an old man.
It scared us to death, being stopped with awful traffic at 1:00 am in the morning we were scared to get out of the car, my wife went into panic, plus my doggie was going crazy. We pledged we would not be going on any more vacations to Tennessee. We live in Mississippi. Speeding Radar is illegal in Mississippi, county sheriff departments fund their offices with speed traps, so the state outlawed it. A security officer at Fedex told me Tennessee Counties are required to have approvals from the Tennessee highway department to conduct speed traps in Tennessee. Can you please check and see if Henderson county parkers crossroads, got approvals from the state of Tennessee to set up speed traps at their Shiloh park location. It was awful. They should be ashamed of themselves. We will be sure to tell all our friends at work and in our hometown in Mississippi.

If you go to TN website, search for liquor license and places approved under tourism, you will note the wording concerning this city, no doubt written by that city manager and state representative and law maker, is extremely constructed to benefit Parkers Crossroads only, as terms in the law refer to a certain civil war leaders, command and orders. This is just one of many examples of the most public displays of corruption, I have ever seen. The audit report for city shows annual income from fines to be +263,000.oo for 2015, but after allowed deductions, the city claims only about 16,000.oo. Where does this money go ???? And is it legal for county agency to watch and patrol the interstate highway… They can’t make or take accident reports that must be done by a state trooper.. And they have a building right there… Other counties in eastern TN have in past had to share one troops, for two or three counties. Henderson County seems to have an excessive amount per population average.. Makes one wonder why sheriffs dept is writing tickets on State and Federal Hwy”s. But that’s Tennessee State ole boys club at its best… One might find it interesting to look up the Federally funded highway by-pass for Lexington, TN. Also I’m this county, where grants have been written and approved for the paving of this by-pass, which is still non existent, due to fact no construction has been started…

Rules of the Road / Speed Trap Prevention — Legislation designed to prevent a small municipality from policing the interstate highways with speed traps was passed by the 108th General Assembly. The new law requires a municipality with a population between 2,500 and 10,000 to have at least one interstate exit within their boundaries to have the authority to patrol the interstate with local police. Those municipalities with less than 2,500 in population must have two interstate exits within their boundaries and own the land between them before being permitted by the Commissioner of Safety to patrol the interstate with local police.

Crossroads population is less than 2500…. And there is only one exit… At 108 exit of I-40…. Please someone bring a class action and force these jokers to refund all tickets issued and paid since this law was enacted… Along with any increases in insurance or loss of coverage or license due to points illegally add to DL from…. Illegal issuance of speeding ticket….

The Sheriff will set at bottom of while and trap you. It is a legal way to steal. Also the deputy will be very rude to intimidate you so he can try and add to the ticket. Most dishonest way to make money I have ever seen. Will avoid this area. Have my employee to stop purchasing gas or any other purchases there that were substantial since it was the halfway point.

The posted speed limit changes back & forth from 50 to 55mph and if
one looks in their rear view or side mirrors when the change occurs you may get a ticket as I did returning from my sister’s funeral
