They’re back! Wasn’t even speeding but we had out of county tags and they just wrote a ticket, no ifs, ands or buts. They could have used discretion and given a warning, but they want that money and know you really don’t have any recourse.

Hwy 49 from cemetery to intersection at Old Clarksville Pike

Pleasant View, TennesseeJul 05, 20100 Comments

Travelling south on State Highway 49 from the cemetery to just before the intersection with Old Clarksville Highway the speed limit is 35 mph while the northbound traffic lane is 45 mph. This is an overlapping speed limit on a non-divided highway and should be corrected because it poses a safety hazard for the people who may be pulling out of the residential neighborhood adjacent to this stretch of highway. If they are pulling out across both lanes to turn left toward I-24, they cross over two very distinct speed zones before they ever get into traffic at all.
It is also a speed trap because overlapping zones like this are always designed to be confusing to motorists. This overlap is intentional on the part of local government because they recently put up new signage after a debate about traffic pulling out of the residential neighborhood mentioned above.
