Sale Creek, Tennessee Speed Traps
Multiple Sudden Speed Drops on Hwy. 27
I’ve never been stopped there, but I have seen a number of cars pulled over as I pass by. There are several places along this stretch of highway between Soddy and Dayton where the speed limit drops suddenly and unexpectedly. You really have to pay attention going through there.
State Highway 27 near 1300 Block
Sale Creek is the local joke around town. If you are going even 5-7 over, you will be pulled over. There is a 45 zone that is strictly enforced even though it is a 4 lane and in the middle of a primarily rural area. Secondly, there is a section of the highway before the 45 that is also stritctly enforced. The posted speed is 55 even though there is no apparent reason for the change from 70. There is always a cop that is running radar at a local Texaco Station on the south end of town. He will follow you from the 55 to 45 to see if you will slow down. Be particularly careful on Fri. and Sat. night between 10-2 and during the day when the 45 drops to 30 through a school zone.
