Sevierville, Tennessee Speed Traps

Unmarked silver four door sedan and unmarked black pickup truck. See them with someone pulled over almost every day. If a motorist is driving dangerously, I agree with them being stopped and ticketed. Mostly I think this is the same as New Market TN, a way to make revenue.

Watch out for city police, I switched lanes due to a car making u-turn and pulled out in front of me and didn’t put my blinker on. I pulled in behind the car in the right lane the went around the car that made the u-turn. Next thing I know a police car lights flashing behind me. He gave me a ticket for not using my blinker!!!! I told him that the car made u-turn and pulled out in front of me. His explanation was that I was speeding and there for the car making the u-turn did not pull out in front of me. But not once did he say how fast I was speeding. Police are suppose to tell you what the speed limit is and how fast you were traveling.
So be careful while traveling through Sevierville,Tn.  They must be hungry for money to write out a ticket for not using your blinker!!!

State troopers sit in the center median. At times, multiple cars are there shooting radar. It is also a quick turn around for troopers shooting radar across from the other side.

Highway 66 is being 6 laned South from exit 407 -I 40 to Sevierville , Tennessee . The posted limit is 35 mph and 45 mph . The problem is these limits are moved regularly as to location . There are at least 2-3 marked cars on the road and an unmarked green Avenger . We travel this road daily and vehicles pulled over is daily . There is one stretch of roadway that was 45mph under construction and is now 35 mph completed .

Beginning at City limit at Senior Center to Hardin Lane/Old Knoxville Highway intersection, Highway Patrol or City Police or both working together. Speed limit goes from 55 MPH to 45 MPH to 35 MPH in less than 1/3 of a mile.
